Sustainable Energy

Sustainable energy sources are essential to this as well as future generations. “Sustainable” means finding ways to provide the amount of energy we need today without depleting these resources for future generations of users. This can be done in a number of ways, including biofuels, solar and wind energy, and geothermal power.

Sustainable energy is an overarching term that includes renewable energy and energy conservation. Combining renewability and conservation is viewed as the most viable way to create an energy economy that is enduring enough to power the next several centuries. Without both aspects, sustainable energy becomes a much larger challenge.

Creating a sustainable energy economy will more than likely require the combined efforts of government and the private sector. It is an issue that impacts every person on the planet, and as such should be at the forefront of discussion. Finding ways to accomplish this goal will be essential to the comfortable survival of mankind.
